History

Our family homesteaded in what became Laurel, Oregon,  in 1872, and have proudly farmed the land for seven generations. Today Paul, Chris, Sean, Quin, Jack, Ewan and Finn live and work on the family farm. Since planting hazelnuts and walnuts in the 1950’s, operations have focused on growing, processing, and marketing high-quality nuts. Today Denfeld Orchards and Denfeld Nut continue to operate on the family homestead on the Chehalem mountain range overlooking the prosperous valley which nourishes and sustains the Denfeld family.

Being farmers ourselves, we personally understand and relate to the challenges and opportunities that Denfeld Nut growers and the industry face. By maintaining close involvement with the industry’s best groups of experts we can bring innovative solutions straight to not only our organization, but also to our growers. Relationships within our vast and sophisticated network of buyers, brokers, growers across the valley and world allows us to experience the best the hazelnut industry has to offer.
